If traction isn't an issue (preferably on tarmac), change to the secondary truck and stop the engine. Perhaps one of the most useful tricks with this truck (or any truck with enough grunt), can be applied when the operator is leading a convoy.A long wheelbase gives the truck a bad breakover angle, but this only comes into play when you're rock crawling, and the winch will easily get you out. However, most maps with long stretches of asphalt also spawn a truck more suited to such terrain, as most 6圆 trucks do not handle well at high speeds due to their increased ground clearance and low tire pressure. This gives the truck a lower top speed, and its top speed drops like a rock when pulling a heavy load on tarmac. The C-255 does not have a high horsepower figure. The truck's sturdy build and low-set powertrain makes it vulnerable to rocks or uneven terrain damaging the engine and differentials at high speeds. Mass can cause it to sink easily, particularly in mud or soft sand. However, in Hardcore mode, fuel consumption does not increase by the same percentage as other trucks, making it less noticeable. Incredible steering stability at high speeds compared to many other off-road ready trucks.Lower fuel consumption increase from Casual to Hardcore mode compared to other trucks. With a little bit of finagling and some skill, you could pull this truck straight up a cliff if you wanted to. It has six very powerful winches, which means that you can't get truly stuck unless there are no visible winch points to attach to.It's also convenient to just lock the truck into 1+ and go, and not have to shift back and forth to keep the truck in its powerband. This is very helpful when hauling heavy loads or recovering another truck. An accessible torque curve lets the truck steadily churn its way through almost any obstacle, even in 1+.This stability is useful when hauling long logs over rough or soft terrain. This is an especially tangible effect with top-heavy loads. This makes the C-255 extraordinarily stable. A low-set powertrain design gives the truck an incredibly low center of gravity. This makes it an essential truck in any map. Engine produces enough torque to freely spin all six tires, even on asphalt. Will easily out-pull any other C-class truck. Many of the cons can also simultaneously be considered a pro, so they end up canceling out or being outweighed by the benefit they provide. While the C-255 has plenty of pros and cons, almost all of the cons can be negated with a skilled operator. This helps to make up for this truck's somewhat excessive fuel consumption although, the sheer amount of work this truck can do in a tank full helps to offset its thirsty nature. This truck will easily pull even a fully loaded 8x8, which makes it an excellent recovery rig, and also gives the operator the option of saving some fuel by shutting down the second truck in a convoy and letting the C-255 do all the work. While it does not have the high power-to-weight ratio other trucks like the C-432010 do, its higher weight makes it more stable and gives it excellent traction, on and off-road, which translates into better pulling performance. Most often, downshifting is necessary only for increased throttle control or better traction, not for lack of power. This low torque curve also means that it is nearly impossible to stall once it is solidly locked into 1+. This means that in practice, the C-255 has much more grunt than other trucks with comparable power figures, and it can actually tow much more effectively than most other C-class trucks, especially in low speed applications. While it does not have an overwhelmingly impressive horsepower figure on paper, the 15 Liter YaMZ-238N-1 V8 diesel has a very accessible torque curve, making most of its torque very low in the RPM range. It's one of the few trucks that can carry long logs, and it does so with ease. The hardest 6圆 to get stuck, it seems to grip and pull through any terrain better than any other 3-star vehicle. For an all-around workhorse, the C-255 simply can't be beat. With a skilled operator, the C-255 is easily the most capable truck either game has to offer. These factors make the C-255 one of the best trucks available in both Spintires and MudRunner. Its incredible selection of frame add-ons allow it to serve practically any role. The C-255 is a very capable truck due to its many distinct traits, such as its aggressive bar-tread tires, 6圆 drivetrain, an engageable diff lock, and a massive, torquey engine.
